What's Your Favorite Scary...TV Show?

So, a Scream series is actually happening, eh?  I wasn't even going to write about it, because I initially thought it was a stupid idea.

Back in earlier 2013, it was announced that MTV was going to produce a series based on the popular Wes Craven slasher series, Scream.  Anyone that knows me from high school will know that I was obsessed with Scream when it came out in the later 1990's, so I'm not sure how I feel about this.  Yesterday, they announced some young actors who are attached to the project, and their characters were also described (the list from EW is below).  I don't see a Sidney Prescott in the bunch.  Sorry bout it!

Willa Fitzgerald as Emma Duvall: A classic beauty whose looks and popularity hide a natural shyness and intellectual natureHer new life with the “in crowd” leaves her estranged her from childhood best friend Audrey.

Amy Forsyth as Audrey Jensen: The daughter of a Lutheran pastor, Audrey is an artsy loner who aspires to be a filmmaker.

John Karna as Noah Foster: Creative computer genius with a vast knowledge of pop culture and the tech world. Best friends with Audrey.
Carlson Young as Brooke Maddox Charismatic leader of the popular crew whose personality vacillates between bubbly sweetness and ferocious sex appeal.
Amadeus Serafini as Kieran Wilcox: The mysterious new kid in town, Kieran’s got a dark side and a tough exterior that hints at experience beyond his years.

Are they going to do a new killer every season?  That might be a cool concept, but why is this on MTV?  Why can't it be on FX or HBO?  Can they really get away with what they want to on that network.  Don't like it.  Not one bit.
