Boyhood is the best reviewed film of 2014 so far. The notices for it are quite staggering, and at the center of it all is Ellar Coltrane. We literally see him grow up before our eyes on screen, and today he will be celebrating his 20th birthday!
I don't think he has lined up his next project--perhaps he will step back from acting for a bit since he filmed Boyhood over a 12 year span? Coltrane was interviewed by his Boyhood co-star (and father) Ethan Hawke in mid-July for Entertainment Weekly, and it's a great, short read.
After the huge critical success of Boyhood, Coltrane's next move will surely get attention. For now, though, I hope he enjoys his 20th birthday!
